Senior Lecturer in Environmental Management
Prysor Williams is a Senior Lecturer in Environmental Management at Bangor University. His first degree was in Environmental Science, followed by a PhD in Environmental Microbiology.
Much of the applied aspect of his research sits at the interface between agriculture and the environment, and he has collaborated extensively with external partners on national and international projects from both natural science and socio-economic aspects.
Prysor comes from an agricultural background and this gives him a highly valuable insight into the practical management of farms as well as a host of contacts within the agricultural community that have proven valuable in a range of projects.
He is regularly invited to address industry at both local and national meetings and sits on many relevant committees and panels, from both local to national level. He is a member of the Research & Development Committee for the red meat levy board in Wales (Hybu Cig Cymru), is a Board Member of the multi-million pound Farming Connect programme and the Welsh Government’s Sustainable Brand Values programme.
He is also Chair of the Agricultural Industry Climate Change Forum. He has over 60 publications in peer-reviewed journals and has supervised many PhD students.
