Dr. Taro Takahashi
Dr. Taro Takahashi is a research scientist at Rothamsted Research, the oldest agricultural research institute in the world and the home of the long-term Broadbalk arable and Park Grass permanent pasture experiments.
Originally trained as a mathematical economist, Takahashi’s research interests focus on the roles of agriculture in wider society, with expertise in life cycle assessment of farming systems and general equilibrium modelling of farming-based economies.
Takahashi received a Ph.D. from The Australian National University and has previously worked for Charles Sturt University in Australia and the University of Tokyo in Japan.
In addition to his role at Rothamsted, he also works as a senior lecturer at Bristol Veterinary School at the University of Bristol. He is assistant editor for Agribusiness (Wiley) and review editor for Frontiers in Sustainable Food Systems (Frontiers).
